Editorial policy
One tool, one page
Each page answers one need. When two pages did the same job we merged them and redirected the old address, so a search or a bookmark always lands on the current version.
Tool first, explanation after
The working tool is at the top of the page. Below it we explain how the result is produced. Tools rebuilt on our current template add a worked example and reference material such as tables or charts.
Sources and dates
Figures that can change, such as rates, thresholds or official dates, are taken from the organisation that sets them and linked on the page. Where a figure could not be confirmed at its source, the page says so. Every tool page carries the date it was last updated; we change that date only when the content or the data really changed.
Authors and reviewers
Pages name an author or reviewer only when a specific, qualified person has written or checked them. Where no name is shown, the page was produced by the CalcWorld team from the sources listed on it.
Corrections
If a result looks wrong, check the formula and sources on the page first; they show exactly what the tool does. Confirmed errors are fixed and the page date is updated.
What this site is not
CalcWorld is a study aid. Check the method your course or exam board expects, especially for quartiles, percentiles and rounding, where conventions differ. The finance calculators give estimates for learning and planning, not financial advice.
